Jetstar Update

Dear Valued Agent,

In this ever changing environment here in Australia, Jetstar would like to remind you of some important information when making bookings for you and your clients.

  • In the current travel environment it’s never been more important for Jetstar to have contacts to reach our passengers.
  • With border opening and closures our schedule is being regularly adjusted.
  • Contacts may also be needed for tracing in the event of a covid-19 positive passenger on board a Jetstar flight.
  • Now more than ever we need your compliance with our Travel Agent Terms and Conditions which require Jetstar to be provided a contact to reach the passenger directly.
  • You can check and add a contact through Manage My Booking on Jetstar.com or through live chat with our Industry Support Team

What can I do to help protect my health on board?

Here’s how you can stay safe when travelling:
  • Regularly wash your hands.
  • Use hand sanitiser.
  • Cover your sneeze or cough with your arm.
  • Consider using the sanitising wipes provided onboard for additional cleaning.
  • Consider wearing a face mask (mandatory on flights to and from Victoria, and strongly recommended on others).

Do I need to wear a face mask if I’m flying to or from Victoria?

Yes, it’s mandatory for you to wear a face mask at the boarding gate and for the duration of the flight (and before entering the airport terminal if departing Victoria). Face masks are provided on all flights as part of our Fly Well program and need to be worn covering your mouth and nose.

For those wearing surgical face masks (as provided in the Fly Well pack), these need to be changed every two hours. For flights longer than two hours, you’ll need to collect enough packs to supply you for the duration of your flight.

I have a medical condition - do I need to wear a face mask?

No, you don’t need to wear a face mask if one of the following applies to you:
  • You’re under the age of 12 years.
  • You’re affected by a relevant medical condition - including problems with their breathing, a serious skin condition on the face, a disability or a mental health condition. This also includes those communicating with a person who is hearing impaired, where the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication.

Please advise an airport team member if you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a face mask. Proof of the condition is not required.

Will I be able to eat onboard a flight where face masks are mandatory?

Yes, your face mask may be removed for the short time that you are eating and drinking.

Will crew be wearing face masks?

Crew will be wearing face masks on flights to and from Victoria. However, pilots on those flights are exempt from wearing them on the flight deck due to safety requirements of operating the aircraft.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard Jetstar.

Stay safe,
The Jetstar Sales Team
