Jetstar Update

Dear Valued Agent,

As most states and territories prepare to fully open their borders, we expect there will be some COVID-safe requirements for travel [for at least several months] and we want to help travellers know what to expect. Customers must meet the requirements of the Australian states and territories as well as Jetstar’s existing COVID-safe practices when travelling.

A number of states have indicated that they will progressively introduce requirements for customers to be fully vaccinated to travel as part of plans to ease border restrictions over the coming months, unless customers have a valid exemption.

NSW, VIC, QLD, NT and SA have all outlined on their roadmaps and public health orders vaccination requirements, and other states and territories are expected to introduce similar requirements as they reopen.

Jetstar will provide links to the latest information for travel in each state on our website and send customers reminders of travel and entry requirements before they travel.

Domestic travel requirements

  • Prior to travel, we will send customers reminders of travel and destination entry requirements.
  • On arrival at the airport, customers may be asked to sign-in using a QR code and (in states that require it) confirm their vaccination status.
  • When checking in, customers will be asked to confirm that they comply with government travel requirements (including COVID-19 vaccination, where applicable).
  • Other COVID-safe measures, including the requirement to wear masks in airport terminals and on board, will remain in place for now.
