New Zealand based members set to take off with AA Smartfuel
Qantas Frequent Flyer has partnered with one of New Zealand’s biggest loyalty programs, AA Smartfuel to help Kiwis reward themselves with travel. Effective 23 March 2021, Qantas Frequent Flyer and AA Smartfuel have launched a partnership offering Frequent Flyer members the ability to earn Qantas Points. New Zealand based members can link their AA Smartfuel account to their Qantas Frequent Flyer and then choose to turn some or all of their fuel discounts into Qantas Points.
It marks the first time Qantas’ loyalty program has partnered with an international retailer and comes at a crucial time for the business with the resumption of international travel back on the horizon. Effectively Qantas Frequent Flyers will now be able to earn Qantas Points, at more than 1,200 retailers across New Zealand.
Qantas Loyalty Chief Executive Officer, Olivia Wirth said establishing another avenue to earn Qantas Points in New Zealand with a partner as prolific as AA Smartfuel is good news for members and an exciting opportunity for Qantas Frequent Flyer.
“This partnership will help the hundreds of thousands of Qantas Frequent Flyers based in New Zealand build their points balances faster and get closer to their dream trip sooner.
“New Zealanders share our love of travel and as our second biggest market they also understand the value of Qantas Points.
“We look forward to giving our New Zealand members more opportunities to earn Qantas Points to enjoy a domestic flight somewhere close to home now, an international flight later or a gift from the Qantas Rewards Store.”
Qantas Frequent Flyer members earn a minimum of 400 Qantas Points on Jetstar Domestic flights in New Zealand, including Starter fares, and this can increase in value with a Jetstar bundle.
