Jetstar NZ Tasman services resume

The New Zealand Government last week announced fully vaccinated tourists will be allowed into New Zealand sooner than expected. From 11:59pm on 12 April 2022, fully vaccinated Australians can enter New Zealand without the need for managed or self-isolation.

Jetstar are thrilled with this news and we will be resuming Tasman services to accommodate for this change.
  • From 13 April, Jetstar will resume services between Auckland and Gold Coast (Coolangatta) and will operate 3 return services per week.
  • From May, as well as flights between Auckland and Gold Coast, Jetstar will resume services between Auckland and Melbourne and Auckland and Sydney

Pre-departure tests to enter New Zealand

Most travellers legally must have a negative COVID-19 test to enter New Zealand. All travellers from Australia, aged 2 years and over, must provide proof of a negative PCR test, a supervised rapid antigen test (RAT) or a supervised loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) test. For more information on pre-departure testing to enter New Zealand, please click here.

Auckland Airport - Greenline terminal walking route temporarily closed

Auckland Airport have advised that from Mon 28 Mar, and until later this year, the Greenline pedestrian path between the domestic and international terminals will be temporarily closed.

While the Greenline is closed, all airport visitors will be asked to use the green inter-terminal transfer bus to travel between the domestic and international terminals. For more information, click here.

Please note, walking between terminals will not be possible during this time as there are no safe pedestrian routes available.

The free green inter-terminal bus operates every 15 minutes (10 minutes during school holidays) from 05:00 through to 23:00 daily.

Departure points are at the forecourt outside Door 8 at the international terminal and Door 2 (bus stop C) at the domestic terminal.

A new-look Greenline will reopen later this year in a similar location with a new canopy to provide better shade and shelter for those who choose to take the journey by foot.

JETSTAR A321 NEO

Jetstar will be the first airline in Australia and the Pacific to operate the longer-range NEO which will be the most fuel-efficient aircraft in the Jetstar Group fleet, helping to keep airfares low.

With the first aircraft joining Jetstar Japan’s fleet in June and the second being delivered to Jetstar Airways in July, these efficient, longer-range, high-tech aircraft will deliver lower costs, greater flexibility, and an improved customer experience.

Most importantly they burn up to 15 per cent less fuel compared to the current A321, helping Jetstar deliver on our sustainability goals.

As we head towards our 18th year, the NEOs are a real symbol of Jetstar’s coming-of-age and will play a huge role in growing our fleet, our network, and our business.

Some of the cabin features include:

  • 232 seats in a single class cabin
  • Full rear galley
  • Single class Award-winning ergonomic Recaro seats with tapered arm rests for greater space
  • Extra-large overhead bins with 40 per cent more space to stow bags overhead.
  • Flip-down smartphone and tablet cradles and in-seat USB power to keep personal devices charged
  • Colour LED lighting that adjusts to the different stages of flight
